  • Ancient Cultures & Iintervalley “AZAPA”. Early departure for the river mouth Lluta (Nature Sanctuary: A place where we can see a great number and variety of birds.
    Join Lluta Valley where we will meet an important panel geoglyphs.
    Visit Poconchile Church and Molino Village which is an old town of farmers. Back to Poconchile where we take detour to cross a dirt road and pampas from Lluta Valley to Azapa Valley.
    Visit the village of San Miguel de Azapa mainly his church and cemetery.
    Visit the Museum of San Miguel de Azapa synthesized Sample Socio-Cultural Development of the South Central Andes, which highlights the world’s oldest mummies.
    Then pass through two archaeological hills (the tropilla and the sacred hills) going back to the city where we pass by the village craft and finally arriving at the Cathedral of San Marcos and then back to the Cruise Terminal.

  • Altiplanic Towns & Putre. Leaving your Cruise Ship/Hotel to Asoagro Termina. Azapa Valley and geoglyphs. We cross through the fertile Lluta valley and on our way up to the Altiplano we make stops at the village of Poconchile. See chandelier cactus, enjoy the view at Pukara de Copaquilla, visit tambo de Zapahuira, and have a view at Socoroma and Putre. We ll arrive to Putre village (3.500masl). Then will head to Jurási Spring waters to get a relaxed bath. Then we will ride back to Arica.

  • Chilean Altiplano & “Lauca” National park full day. Leaving your hotel/Cruise Ship we cross through the fertile Lluta valley and on our way up to the Altiplano we make stops at the village of Poconchile, see chandelier cactus, enjoy the view at Pukara de Copaquilla, visit tambo de Zapahuira, and have a view at Socoroma and Putre. Small walks in the sector of the caves to observe the vizcachas, views from Chucuyo and at Cotacotani lakes make us arrive at an altitud of 4500 m.a.s.l. Lake Chungara. We start heading back to Arica but not before we show Parinacota to you and then, we make sure you get safe back to your cruise ship in the city of Arica.

  • Pick up from Arica Hotel or Cruise Terminal. Catedral de San Marcos, designed by Alexandre Gustav Eiffel, on the Plaza Colón. Originally intended for the seaside resort of Ancón, the church was instead used to replace an original cathedral destroyed in the 1888 earthquake. See the exterior photo or the panoramic view of the interior.
    The Casa de Cultura, once the Customs House, was prefabricated to an Eiffel design and erected on site prior to the War of the Pacific and is one of the few existing structures from that time.
    El Morro de Arica overlooking the city offers great panoramic views and was the site of a decisive battle in the War of the Pacific. The Museo Histórico y de Armas here devoted mostly to the Chilean army’s bayonet charge to dislodge the Peruvian garrison stationed on El Morro. This view, taken from El Moro, is of the coastline and port.
    Handicraft village (pueblo artesanal).
    The Pukará de Copaquilla is a 12th century fortress built to protect the agricultural settlement. The size of the abandoned terraces gives us a hint of the size of the population they fed.
    Putre was a 16th century Spanish settlement, a reduccíon, built to control the native population. The restored adobe church and other colonial buildings remain from that time

We observe COTACOTANI Lagoons. CHUNGARA Lake (4500 masl). We get lunch at CHUCUYO Village. Observations of local Birds. JURASI Hot Springs. Coming back to ARICA.

Trekking, observation and photographs of the three types of flamingos. Picnic. We cross the National Park ISLUGA, ARAVILLA Lagoon, ENQUELGA and ISLUGA altiplanic villages. Afternoon arriving to COLCHANE. Lodging.
    -DAY 4. COLCHANE – IQUIQUE o ARICA
    Morning Departure from COLCHANE Village. Observation of Giants Cactus (4-5 meters high). Then Visit to CARIQUIMA Village. Observation of Atacama Giants Geoglyph (It Represents a Local Cacique). To right hand there is a Reptile (wisdom) and by left hand there is a balance (Justice). A puma mask since 900 years A.C. We get Lunch at HUARA town. Then we visit HUMBERSTONE a saltpeter town that reminds us the Saltpeter Rush Season of Chile at the beginning of last Century. Arriving to IQUIQUE or return directly to ARICA
